The Croatian Ministry of hydrocarbons has announced the results of the first ever onshore licence round in Croatia, with 6 onshore block awards In the Croatian Pannonian Basin. The blocks awarded to Nigeria’s Oando energy, Croatian – INA Naftaplin and Canadian Vermillion Energy cover an area of roughly 14,000 km in the Drava and Eastern Slavonia regions. Future exploration in this mature region will likely focus on various untested deeper structural plays along with a vast amount of potential in untested Stratigraphic plays in the proven deep Miocene section. It is hoped that this first licence round will be followed by successive rounds in the Sava region of the Pannonian and The Croatian Dinaride Region.
